IMPERIAL, MO – A car crash near Imperial in Jefferson County has resulted in the deaths of two men.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identified the victims as 31-year-old Joseph Davis and 57-year-old Matthew Held, both of Hillsboro.
The men died after their car rear-ended a tractor-trailer just after 1 a.m. Saturday on Old Highway M, east of Lemay Ferry Road.
According to police, the driver of the tractor-trailer was backing up to turn into a private driveway when the victims’ car rear-ended the truck.
Davis and Held were transported to a St. Louis hospital following the incident, where they later died.
Another occupant in the vehicle sustained moderate injuries.
